auxarczen is putting the artistry back into publishing
- Jeanne Goolsby

Six years ago, we began a journey thinking it would be a relatively short one. One, maybe two books and we would be on to our next adventure. 26 books later we still get goosebumps when the latest proof arrives. We will never forget the feeling when we opened the package of our first proof, tears. A dream come to life, we do not get to experience those as often as we should.

Realizing we had missed our five-year anniversary as a press, we began reflecting on our odyssey and quickly realized that we should venture beyond our circle and share our crash course into the publishing world with the world.

We want to help people experience the joy of seeing their creation come to life. Plus We have made all the mistakes so that you do not have to. It is our philosophy that books are art so we use our art in collaboration with yours to create a final product that will bring beauty into being.

Matt McGowan, author of 1971, Northfork, and Western Swing had this to say about working with auxarczen, parent press to GO!PRESS:
"Because the publishers are artists themselves, Auxarczen is the perfect house for perfectionists like me who can’t let go of their precious art. I don’t mean to facetious. Michael and Jennifer Cartright could not be more sensitive to the fact that writers and poets are stubborn about creative control. That is probably what I love most about this small press. Without allowing artists to do any crazy thing they want, the publishers trust the client’s instincts, a phenomenon, I assume, is rare in the publishing world. Otherwise, Auxarczen is the whole package – talented editor, designer and photographer who cares about the client’s work as if it’s their own. Which it is."

Projects that we are proud to have had a hand in ...
Eric Rickey

Eric has the distinction of being the first client of GO!PRESS, in fact he was the blueprint and we formed the press around what he needed as an author. He gave us a lot of feedback as to what roadblocks he encountered when attempting to publish his book. We examined the obstacles and found detours around them . That is our goal with each author, to adapt our work to their needs.

Eric is an incredible weaver of stories and his first novel Beautiful ; Crazy is proof of that fact.
